How is the Mill ensuring they are COVID safe?

We can assure you that we have been keeping up to date with all the latest requirements and guidance in France to ensure that we are compliant and that our place is as safe as possible to welcome you. In accordance with this, we have had to make a few changes which are summarised below. If you would like to know more before booking then please just get in touch:

  • We are trusting all our guests to follow the general guidance and be responsible and not travel if they or anyone in their party are showing symptoms or have been in recent contact with someone with Coronavirus. If this is the case, we will of course provide a full refund on your booking.

  • All our gites will be cleaned and disinfected thoroughly between guests and the recommended cleaning products and procedures adhered to at all times. Appropriate cleaning products will also be available in each gite and in the shared areas.

  • Our barn and pool will be open for your use but with distancing and hygiene measures in place.

  • We will share more updates and specific requirements with you closer to your stay but as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please just get in touch.

What if I have to cancel my booking due to COVID related issues?

We know that travelling and booking holidays is a concern at the moment because of the uncertainty around COVID so we are being extra flexible, please get in touch if you are interested in booking and we can discuss different options with you. But rest assured that you can book with us and you won't lose any money if you do need to cancel or reschedule.

How far is the nearest shop / restaurant?

The nearest village, Cherves-Richemont, is just a short drive/walk away (3 km) and offers a local bakers, mini supermarket, post office, pharmacy, tabac and even a small restaurant. A little further afield (7km / 10 mins drive) is the historic town of Cognac with it's larger shops, services, restaurants and of course the famous Cognac Houses. More information about the surrounding area can be found here.

Does the mill have WIFI?

Yes, we have WIFI throughout the mill although as we are in rural France, it can be somewhat patchy at times.

Do you have a swimming pool?

Yes we have a fabulous large (12m x 6m) pool which is heated when needed and can be lit up at night. The pool also has a large terrace area with loungers and shade and a fully equipped pool house with toilet. It has both a shallow and deep end and steps down to access. The pool area is fenced for safety and completely private and secluded with views out over the vines and woodland.

Is there a barbecue?

Yes, all the gites have their own private terrace and barbecues (charcoal) to make the most of those long, lazy summer evenings and there is also a shared outdoor kitchen area with large gas BBQ for group events.

Do you provide bed linen and towels?

Of course! All gites come fully equipped with bedding, bath towels, tea towels etc. You will also have your own washing machine should you wish to clean these mid-week, as well as iron and ironing board. For those staying for more than 1 week, clean bed linen will be provided mid-stay for you. Please note, pool towels are not provided so you may wish to bring your own.

Does the gite have a hairdryer?

If you are travelling with children, we can also provide some of the important baby equipment, click here to find out more.

Is cleaning included?

The gite will be clean and spotless when you arrive. During your stay you can request extra cleaning of your gite if required (for a fee). Upon departure we ask guests to leave the gite clean and tidy. Your security deposit will be used if the gite is not left appropriately.

We do also have two dogs that live onsite at the Mill - an overly friendly black labrador named Rémy and a rascal of a terrier called Martell. We also have a handful of free range chickens, two goats and a little black Cat. They are all very friendly and can't wait to keep you and/or your children entertained!
